Guidelines for Choosing

a Probiotic or a

Prebiotic Product

Membership
ISAPP is currently established as a non-profit, public-service corporation run by a Board of Directors. (This decision was made to facilitate operation of this organization during its early years of establishment.) Since ISAPP is not a member-run organization*, it does not have membership for individuals in the same way other scientific societies do.
  • An individual interested in being involved in ISAPP activities need only provide contact information, affiliation and brief description of research interests to Mary Ellen Sanders (info@isapp.net) to be added to the ISAPP mailing list. Activities will be communicated by email or by posting on the ISAPP website.
  • A company interested in membership to the ISAPP Industry Advisory Committee and meeting the requirements stipulated here should likewise contact Mary Ellen Sanders (info@isapp.net).
*According to the bylaws, ISAPP “shall have no members within the meaning of Section 5056 of the California Nonprofit Corporation Law. Accordingly, any action that would otherwise require approval by the members under the California Nonprofit Corporation Law shall require approval only by the Board. All rights, which would otherwise vest in the members, shall vest in the Board.”

Our Mission

To engender and disseminate information on high quality, multidisciplinary, scientific investigation in the fields of probiotics and prebiotics, and to advance the development of scientifically substantiated, health-promoting probiotic and prebiotic products worldwide.
